Les courses restent comme de coutume dans les 3 pays alpins : France, Italie et Suisse cette fois-ci. Les Championnats du Monde auront lieu en Andorre du 27 février au 7 mars 2010.

La grande nouveauté est le KO sprint la veille de la course individuelle qui définira l'ordre du départ pour la Coupe du Monde. Il sera testé pour la première fois à Pila le 19 décembre 2009.

PA of ISMF in Bratislava: Hiroo SASOLa première Assemblée générale de ISMF "purement" skialpinisme a eu lieu hier à Bratislava. 17 fédérations membres se sont déplacé en Slovaquie!! Du jamais vu au temps des assemblées générales communes avec UIAA.

La Coupe du Monde aura 7 courses, et le matériel modifié ne sera plus accepté, les cadets et les juniors auront leurs propres parcours, la reconnaissance internationale avance, le personnel manque à ISMF.....

First on the list of 2009 developments is the integration of the USSMA with the American Alpine Club: the USSMA will continue as the representative body for ski mountaineering in America, but as a part of the American Alpine Club.

Elbrus Race: redfox.ruThe festival of extreme sports took place at the Elbrus area for the second time and gathered more than 80 participants.
Sportsmen from Russia, Kirghizia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Ukraine, Australia, Austria, Spain, New Zealand and Switzerland took part in the competitions.
