In 2011, the DAV Skitourencup consists again of four races – the three German classics Dammkarwurm, Hochgratrallye and Jennerstier plus the Austrian Vertical Race Champ or Cramp. The series will start with the legendary and hard Vertical Race Dammkarwurm the 15th of January in Mittenwald. The race goes uphill on the longest German (8km) freeride descent through the spectacular Dammkar valley. One week later, the DAV cup stops at Austrias longest black piste, again a lactic acid pumping Vertical Race in Spittal. The German Single Championships will take place January 29th at the Hochgratrallye in Oberstaufen. The track is said to be the fastest in Germany and guarantees for a spectacular race with views from the Säntis massif to the central Alps. The cup will have its highlight with the ISMF homologated Race Jennerstier, 12th of March in Berchtesgaden. This is the first German race ever to be entered in the international calendar. Racers can get points for the ISMF world ranking.
For all races, prize money will be awarded for the fastest (up to 750€ for the Jennerstier victory) and material prizes for the age category winners. So the cup is surely worth a visit also for racers from outside of Germany. Find more information on the race websites www.jennerstier.de (also in English), www.skirallye.de (German) and on the DAV information page (German): http://www.alpenverein.de/template_loader.php?tplpage_id=179 Attached you find the race information sheet. Information on the races in English or French is available at the DAV race email@example.com
