Classés 5es la veille, les Valaisans Yannick Ecoeur et Martin Anthamatten, vice-champions du monde de relais, battent la redoutable paire Jornet - Troillet. Ce succès représente certainement le plus bel exploit pour les deux compères du Swiss Team. Dans la dernière ascension, Yannick Ecoeur et Martin Anthamatten ont forcé la décision. Au final, ils comptent 1’36’’ d’avance sur les leaders du général.

Troillet-Jornet: by Jocelyn ChavyLa seconde étape de la 25e édition de la Pierra Menta était très longue : les coureurs par équipe de 2 ont dû affronter un tracé de 30km750 et de 2 722 m de dénivelé positif. Les Suisses Yannick Ecoeur et Martin Anthamatten créent la surprise en remportant l’étape devant le duo Troillet/Jornet Burgada. Les Arêchois Perrier/Bon Mardion sont 3e. Chez les femmes, les italiennes Martinelli/Pedranzini s’imposent une nouvelle fois.

Today's race in Pierramenta finished with an non expected winner: the Swiss team Ecoeur-Anthamatten.
The team Jornet-Troillet were leading during almost all the race, but Florent Troillet had a fall during the first descent and hurted his calf muscle, which obliged them to be more conservative in the descents. In addition, they had frozen camelback, so they could not drink as wished.
On the last ascent, Jornet and Troillet were overtaken by Ecoeur and Anthamatten, which did and impressive race today. The third place was for the French team Perrier-Bon Mardion.

Jour J, ce 11 mars 2010, pour la mythique Pierra Menta, avec une première étape nerveuse, comprenant des montées et des descentes plutôt courtes et très techniques, notamment à cause de la neige particulièrement dure cette année. Le duo masculin hispano-suisse Jornet Burgada/Troillet remporte l’étape tandis que les Italiennes Pedranzini/Martinelli s’imposent chez les filles.

On this first day of Pierramenta 2010, Kilian Jornet (ES) and Florent Troillet (CH) won with a confortable difference of 2 minutes the race. They took a good advantage on the first ascent and kept this differences until the end, keeping energies for the next 3 days.
In female category, the Italians Roberta Pedranzini and Francesca Martinelli won with around 3 minutes advantage over the French Laetitia Roux and the Spanish Mireia Miró.
The weather was sunny and very cold, and the racers found a hard frozen snow on the descents.

Pierramenta 2009: by Jocelyn ChavyLa Pierra Menta s’apprête à fêter ses 25 printemps, du 11 au 14 mars 2010 et plus de 400 coureurs s’installent dès aujourd’hui dans la station d’Arêches-Beaufort. Cette année, les concurrents par équipe de 2 peuvent être de nationalités différentes, ce qui multiplie les alliances possibles et accroît le suspens ! Qui court avec qui ? Sur quel type de tracé ? Qui est en forme ? Un point s’impose !

Après 4 années de « rodage » sur des parcours nocturne découverte et promotionnels, qui ont réunit jusqu'à 92 coureurs en 2009, Le club Lioran Ski Alpinisme-Just A roc a décidé en 2010 d’organiser un Open National, avec un parcours A, et par la même occasion à proposer au Comité régional Auvergne d’organiser les premiers championnats d’Auvergne.
