Skimountaineering.org, the reference international website for ski mountaineering races is growing every year. More visits, bigger structure, higher goals, more work to do… Our team, nowadays already of 6-9 volunteers, would like to integrate 1 or 2 persons more.

For the season 2008 we need:

Database manager

The database manager will be responsible for updating the races database (calendar) and publishing results. He will work with online intranet database system and direct with the website as advanced publisher.

Skills:

• English and French
• Basic knowledge of ski mountaineering races
• E-mail and internet
• Responsible and effective

Estimated work:

• 2-3 hours/week (from 01/11/07 until 01/05/08)
• There is a possibility as well to be only database manager for one
• country (in Europe) or one continent, which would mean less work.

Journalist / reporter in France

The reporter in France will have to provide articles, images and results of the maximum of races in France. Reports can be written by himself or by the organizer (request to organizer, browse in website…). He will be responsible to upload the articles and images in the website as advanced publisher user. Results will be forwarded to the database manager.

Estimated work:

• 2-3 hours/week (from 01/11/07 until 01/05/08)

What do we offer?

We offer you the possibility to integrate an international team of volunteers with a high know-how in ski mountaineering and web management. This job will improve you knowledge in html, drupal and database management and allows you to meet a big range of people involved in a sport that will be one day Olympic.

You will have maybe as well the option to attend some races as skimo.org representative (press), since we are often invited to races and events.

Skimo.org will offer to all our team a present (equipment) for a value of 150-200€ and the option to get some equipment from our sponsors at advantageous prices.

To begin your work, we will before train you for 4-6 hours about the structure and working system of skimo.org. This training will be done personally or by phone/skype depending on the location of the candidate.

Unfortunately skimo.org has no profit, so we cannot pay a salary and we are only able to accept volunteers.
