8/9: First day of the International Youth Camp in Praxmar / 1ère journée du Stage pour les jeunes à Praxmar (AT)

39 jeunes de 5 pays (AT,CZ,DE,SK et IT-Lombardia) participent a cette deuxième édition du stage pour les jeunes ski-alpinistes de 12 a 20 ans. Le stage a débuté ce matin par un cours d'entrainement et a continué par un relais mixte (pays et catégorie) et fini par un stage d'avalanche et des films de montagne. Demain les jeunes disputerons une course individuelle sur 400 mètres de dénivelé.
Le stage, organisé pour la deuxième fois par ASKIMO, est soutenu par la présence des personnalités du ski de montagne comme Alex Lugger, George Nicklaes (egalement entraineur des jeunes allemands), Miro Leitner (entraineur slovaque), Hermann Kofler (entraineur allemand senior),...

With double such much snow than last year and under a light snowfall begun this morning the 2. International Youth Camp hold in Praxmar. The 39 young athletes from 5 countries (DE, IT, AT, SK, CZ) had this morning a training course with some of the best racers in te world: Alex Lugger, Miro Leitner, Georg Nicklaes, Hermann Kofler,... the young athletes had the opportunity to learn the trick of the top racers and listen to their advices.
After lunch, a relay race took place. 13 mixed teams of 3 racers shared funny and emoting moment on a short itinerary of 100m uphill. Every racers had to do two laps. The first team took around 40 minutes.
Without almost no time to rest the participant had to assist to an avalanche course hold by PIEPS, where they could practice on snow the protocols to search a victim.
At 16:30 the Camp continued with lessons about avalanches in the hotel. All together a strong program to support young athletes and help them to develop.
Tomorrow will be hold an individual race of 400m uphill. Afterwards a popular race for adults (public, trainers, organizers...), a lunch all together and a final ceremony will closed this event.
