16/10: Plenary Assembly of ISMF in Teheran: ISMF will not join UIAA

ISMF Plenary Assembly 2008Thursday morning was hold in Tehran (Iran) the Plenary Assembly of ISMF with one main point on the table: the agreement with UIAA to get unit member. After long discussions, the final decision of ISMF was not to sign any agreement as unit member with UIAA. The voting was decided by a very small difference.

Now all the expectations are on the UIAA General Assembly of next Saturday and their decision about management of ski mountaineering, but ISMF has begun definitively his own way as a complete independent international federation.

The Plenary Assemebly approved as well the calendar and regulations and appointed already the Presidents and memebers of the new ISMF Discinplinary Commission and ISMF Anti-doping commission, in accordance with its statutes.

The Plenary Assembly of ISMF approved as well the seat of the next two Plenary Assemblies. In 2009 (20-21 June) the Plenary Assembly will be hold in Bratislava (Slovakia, SSA) and in June 2010 in Salzburg (Austria, ASKIMO).

L’Assemblée générale de l’ISMF s’est tenue jeudi à Téhéran (Iran). Un point important figurait à l’ordre du jour : l’accord avec l’UIAA pour en devenir une unité à part entière. Après de longues discussions, l’ISMF a décidé, à une très courte majorité, de ne signer aucun accord avec l’UIAA visant à devenir une telle entité.

Tous les espoirs reposent maintenant sur l’Assemblée générale de l’UIAA de samedi et sa décision au sujet du management du ski-alpinisme. L’ISMF, pour sa part, a choisi une seule voie, celle d’être une fédération internationale totalement indépendante de l’UIAA.

L’assemblée de l’ISMF a également approuvé le calendrier et les règlements valables dès la prochaine saison. En accord avec ses statuts, elle a désigné les présidents et les membres de ses nouvelles commissions de discipline et antidoping.

Cette assemblée a également arrêté les lieux de ses prochains séances plénières. En 2009 (20-21 juin), elle se tiendra à Bratislava (Slovaquie, org. SSA) et en 2010 à Salzbourg (Autriche, org. ASKIMO).
