15/01: Mountain Attack for Italy: Giacomelli and Martinelli (AT)

Guido Giacomelli just won this evening the Moutain Attack for the 3dr time (2006-2007-2009) with a time of 2h32m06s.On women, Francesca Martinelli repeated as well his first place of 2007 and 2008, with a new astonoshing record of 3h09m16s, more than 11 minutes less than her own record in 2008.

At the beginning of Schattbergs Giacomelli leaded already the race. Mountain AttackClosed behind him was a group with Wieland (AT), Rene Fischerund (AT) and the German Champion Lex Konrad. Giacomelli could get an advantage of 2 Minutes on the top of the Schattbergs summit! But Wieland didn't give up and could cut the difference until back 30 Sekonds on the Westgipfel. But then Gacomelli pushed hard and got again a bigger and bigger advantage until the final 2:32 at the finish line. Lex Konrad got 3rd, 14 minutes later.
