The International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) starts his first season as an independent Federation

The International Ski Mountaineering Federation decided on its Plenary Assembly on October the 16th in Teheran not to sign any agreement with the International Mountain Federation (UIAA) to become Unit Member of UIAA, but to work as an independent competition sport federation. The ISMF was created last February as continuation of the ISMC (The Ski Mountaineering Council of the UIAA).

ISMF Plenary Assembly 2008Thursday morning was hold in Tehran (Iran) the Plenary Assembly of ISMF with one main point on the table: the agreement with UIAA to get unit member. After long discussions, the final decision of ISMF was not to sign any agreement as unit member with UIAA. The voting was decided by a very small difference.

Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l'Escalade (FFME) the UIAA will manage a potential Anti-
Doping Rule Violation at the 2008 Patrouille des glaciers, the famous Ski mountaineering race held
every two years between Zermatt and Verbier.

13-14/12: International Youth Camp, this year is the turn for Slovakia

The 3rd International Youth Camp will celebrate his 3rd edition in Stbske Pleso, in the Slovakian Tatras. After 2 years in Praxmar (Austria), this year is the turn of SSA, the Slovak Skimountaineering Association.

The technical commission finalizes its new sport rules proposal which were already approved by Management Committee. The final "OK" will be pronounced on GA in Teheran in October of this year.

The ISMF Management Committee approved enthusiastically he new sports project presented by the Technical Director, Mr. André Dugit. Important changes are introduced for 2009, especially in the World Cup. The MC Committee as well elected in a very balanced and difficult election the final candidate for the World Championships 2012: finally Austria (Schladming) won.

After the success of New Zealand's first ski mountaineering race series last winter, the 2008 series has been announced. The series will again be made up for 5 races, with the Ohau, Craigieburn and Turoa events all returning and new races added that will be held at Porters and Rainbow ski area's

Troillet-Hug-MoretEtzensperger-Magegant-PontThe patrol n°512 (Troillet-Moret-Hug) just arrived in Verbier in a time of 06:24:32. The women patrol 409 (Etzensberger, Magnenat, Pont-Combe) won the race and beat the old record with a time of 07:53:25!

18/04: PDG: Troillet-Hug-Moret en tête à Rosablanche! (CH)

The team Troillet-Moret-Hug crossed Rosablanche in the first place with a confortable advantage in fornt of the French team Perrier-Gachet-Blanc. If Troillet wins the race he will be the only athlete in the world to win the 3 most important races (Mezzalama, Pierramenta, PDG) in less than one year. Even the record may be beaten today: the leading team is in Col the Momin and the expected finish time is 6h03!

If Italy won all in Team World Cup, the Indiviual World Cup was French. Florent Perrier and Laetitia Roux won the race and consequently the World Cup.
