Disputée dimanche sur la Pointe de Valerette, aux Cerniers/Monthey, la première des cinq épreuves du Championnat du Monde 2008 de ski-alpinisme – l’Individuelle courte - est revenue à l’Italienne Roberta Pedranzini et au Français Florent Perrier. Chez les espoirs Laetitia Roux (F) et Marc Sola Pastoret (E) s’adjugent les médailles d’or. Cette épreuve a été rendue difficile par la chaleur mais elle s’est déroulée dans d’excellentes conditions.

Les deux grands vainqueurs de cette première journée ont aussi été les grands dominateurs. Tant chez les dames que chez les hommes, la course en tête a été un monologue. Deuxième, le Suisse Florent Troillet l’admettait bien volontiers : « aujourd’hui, il n’y avait rien à faire contre Perrier ».

Skimountaineering.org has started a new video channel in YouTube called Skimo TV. There's a link in the right sidebar. In this channel you'll find all the videos we produce for the site. All new videos wil be embedded in the articles from YouTube to help you to view them.
The quality of the videos now is not ground breaking because they were designed to be downloaded from the site and we couldn't compromise too much bandwidth. But from now on we'll try to publish videos with more quality and ever selecting the most interesting shots. We'll try to improve our multimedia skills.

The first videos were two from this year's World Cup in CEC Vall d'Aran (Spain), and we have uploaded videos from last season's Mezzalama and we are slowly publishing all the videos we have from the 2007 European Championships.
We hope you'll enjoy this new feature.

Skimountaineering.org, the reference international website for ski mountaineering races is growing every year. More visits, bigger structure, higher goals, more work to do… Our team, nowadays already of 6-9 volunteers, would like to integrate 1 or 2 persons more.
